Ball Park, NFL Legends Launch Best Burger Challenge

In celebration of this year’s NFL season, the Ball Park brand has teamed up with pro football legends Deion Sanders, Jason Taylor and Tony Siragusa, to launch its “Burgers Across America” Facebook contest.

Through Nov. 12, consumers are encouraged to share how they top Ball Park Flame Grilled Patties using their favorite regionally inspired ingredients by uploading a recipe to the Ball Park brand Facebook page. Participants may submit one unique recipe each day. A grand-prize winner will be selected by fans and awarded the ultimate “Super Fan Prize Pack” worth $5,000, complete with a new 52-inch HDTV, gift certificate to StubHub.com to see the game of their choice, a grocery store gift card, and a gift card to Fanatics.com to choose some new game time gear.

“From our origin as the official hot dog of the Detroit Tigers, sports have long been a part of our heritage. It’s about guys coming together to enjoy guy time, great guy food and the thrill of the competition,” said Andy Callahan, president of retail for Downers Grove, Ill.-based The Hillshire Brands Company. “By teaming with pro legends like Deion Sanders, Jason Taylor and Tony Siragusa, we’re continuing this tradition and giving our consumers a chance to compete themselves to see who is the best of the best when it comes to creating burger recipes.”

Fans who visit Ball Park’s Facebook page can also view videos of the football legends creating their own touchdown-worthy regional recipes, including:

Deion Sanders’ Prime Burger – A Ball Park Flame Grilled Beef and Cheese Patty topped with banana peppers, lettuce, mayo and Cajun spices.

Jason Taylor’s Spicy Taylor Burger – A Ball Park Flame Grilled Beef Patty topped with a slice of pineapple, Jalapeño pepper slices and mozzarella cheese.

Tony Siragusa’s Sizzling Siragusa Burger – A Ball Park Flame Grilled Beef and Onion Patty topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and rigatoni placed atop a toasted Italian roll.

“We’re excited about the recent launch of the Ball Park Flame Grilled Patties and have heard great feedback from our consumers who have tried the varieties,” added Callahan. “Quick and easy to prepare, they’re the perfect guy food, giving fans that delicious ‘just off the grill’ taste right in time for kickoff.”
