Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie Shoppers Donate to Nonprofits

Customers of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie have donated $399,382.44 and $153,661.68, respectively, to nonprofit organizations within the grocers’ operating areas during a six-week community donation program. The program invited customers to donate at any store register from Feb. 20 to April 2, with all funds benefitting local community organizations to enhance the lives of children, improve health and education, and nourish the hungry in their communities.

“We’re honored to support wonderful organizations that are committed to making our communities great," said Melissa Adams, Bi-Lo Winn-Dixie’s manager of charitable giving. "Many of our local organizations work hard to serve and improve their communities, and we’re dedicated to helping them in those endeavors.”

Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie are subsidiaries of Bi-Lo Holding, which is the ninth-largest traditional supermarket chain in the United States. The company employs 63,000 team members who serve customers in 686 grocery stores and 484 in-store pharmacies throughout the eight southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
