Brookshire Grocery Co. Promotes Three Execs

Brookshire Grocery Co. has promoted three of its executives at its corporate headquarters in Tyler, Texas: Scott Reily to SVP of logistics; Don Gilbreath to VP of transportation logistics; and Kyle McCoy to VP-treasurer.

“Scott, Don and Kyle have been key leaders for us, and each has earned this promotion within our company,” said president and CEO Rick Rayford. “We are confident in their abilities to guide the teams in their respective areas. We are fortunate to have these leaders here at BGC.”

Reily, a 30-year BGC veteran, is responsible for all aspects of the company’s warehousing and transportation operations. He began his career as a warehouseman in 1980 and worked in various capacities in the distribution division before serving as warehouse planning coordinator, warehouse systems manager, grocery warehouse manager, general manager of the company’s distribution center in Monroe, La., director of distribution, and director of distribution planning. In 2005, he was promoted to director of transportation logistics and in 2007 to VP of logistics.

Gilbreath, director of transportation logistics since 2007, is responsible for all transportation operations, as well as the company’s distribution center in Monroe and warehouse facility and equipment maintenance. He began his career in 1984 as a warehouseman, later working in the return center. He became a traffic clerk in transportation in 1985 before serving as traffic coordinator, traffic manager, and manager of personnel safety. In 1988, Gilbreath was promoted to grocery warehouse manager and then grocery warehouse supervisor. In 2000, he was named director of the grocery warehouse and in 2005 director of BGC’s perishable warehouse.

McCoy is now responsible for all aspects of taxation, payroll, budgeting, and financial analysis areas, as well as BGC’s banking, lender relations and cash management efforts. He joined the company in 1998, having begun his career as an accountant with the company in Tyler. He later became a tax accountant and in 2000 was promoted to corporate tax manager. McCoy was promoted to director of corporate taxation in 2003, the position he held until being promoted to VP-treasurer. Most recently he served as project lead for the company’s STARS initiative.

Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 151 stores in three states — Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas — with three distribution centers and seven manufacturing facilities.
