Brookshire's FRESH 15 Nets $138K for Charities

A total of $138,000 was raised through Brookshire Grocery Co.’s second annual FRESH 15 road race that took place earlier this spring at FRESH by Brookshire’s in Tyler, Texas.

All proceeds from the event were formally presented in recent weeks to the four benefiting charities: Bethesda Health Clinic, $60,000; Team Red, White and Blue, $31,000; The SEAL Legacy Foundation, $27,000; and FitSTEPS for Life, $20,000.

“With the support of nearly 4,000 runners and volunteers, and our vendor partners, we were able to raise $50,000 more for our charities than last year’s race,” said Trent Brookshire, SVP/division manager for BGC. “We couldn’t be more proud of the overall outcome of this year’s FRESH 15 and can’t wait to see what next year’s race will bring.”

More than 3,300 participants competed in the 2015 FRESH 15, which featured 15k, 5k and kids’ 1k races. Registration for the third annual FRESH 15 race, set for March 5, 2016, opens July 4. For more information, visit FRESH15k.com.
