Buehler’s Adds Dorothy Lane ‘Killer Brownies’

Wooster, Ohio-based Buehler’s Fresh Foods has added fellow Buckeye State grocer Dorothy Lane Market’s renowned signature Killer Brownies to its 14 in-store bakeries. Originally created in the 1980s by the Dayton, Ohio-based Dorothy Lane, Killer Brownies are being made available to Buehler’s through an exclusive licensing agreement.

“Killer Brownies have developed a strong, cult-like following throughout the Midwest and we are proud to bring this luscious, mouthwatering treat to Ohioans living near Buehler’s stores,” said Bob Buehler, VP of marketing and merchandising for the eponymous regional retailer.

For his part, Norman Mayne, CEO of Dorothy Lane Market, said: “As a family owned business ourselves, we are thrilled to be able to work with Buehler’s on bringing the Killer Brownies to its stores. I’m sure that chocolate lovers throughout the area have reason to rejoice today."

Available in a variety of delectable flavors and each weighing approximately one-third of a pound, DLM's Killer Brownies can be purchased from Buehler's individually in multiple varieties, including:

  • Original: Multiple layers of chocolate brownie; rich, gooey caramel; and chopped pecans
  • Not-A-Nutter: No nuts in this version of the original, but extra chocolate chips
  • Peanut Butter Killer: The original with peanut butter and peanuts
  • Salted Caramel: The original, with a generous layer of coarse sea salt sprinkled into the caramel

Buehler’s Fresh Foods is a division of E&H Family Group, which operates 14 supermarkets in Ohio and 12 Ace hardware stores.
