Food Lion Giving Away 1K-plus Grills

Food Lion is offering one customer at each of its participating stores the chance to win a grill through the grocery chain's "Big Bold Summer" sweepstakes. Additionally, 10 grand-prize winners will receive free steak for a year. The sweepstakes runs through July 8.

Customers of Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion can enter the sweepstakes by purchasing four participating items in a single transaction, using their MVP cards. Participating items, which include products from such well-known names as Country Time, Frito-Lay, Hunt's, Kingsford, Bounty and Tide, are prominently tagged on store shelves and also listed in a booklet available at participating stores.

The contest not only offers prizes, but also savings for customers, along with summer-entertaining recipe ideas within the booklet, which also can be viewed online.

A company of Delhaize America, the U.S. division of Brussels-based Delhaize Group, Food Lion operates more than 1,100 stores in 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states and employs more than 63,000 associates.
