Food Lion, Instacart Launch 2nd Grocery Delivery Pilot

Food Lion will pilot grocery delivery services in the Raleigh and Durham, N.C., area in partnership with Instacart. This is the second market in which the Delhaize America banner will test the service, following its pilot in Charlotte, N.C., last month. San Francisco-based Instacart enables customers to order and receive their groceries in as little as an hour.

“Through Instacart’s speedy delivery service, our customers can enjoy fresh, quality groceries at the affordable prices they expect from Food Lion, now at the convenience of their doorstep,” said Keith Nicks, VP of customer engagement at Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion.

Shoppers in the delivery area, which include the Raleigh and Durham, N.C., zip codes 27605, 27601, 27608, 27609, 27607, 27612, 27615, 27560, 27513, 27511, 27518, 27606, 27701, 27514, 27707, 27705 and 27510, can shop using Food Lion’s website or the Instacart app.

Further, by linking their personal MVP cards to their Instacart accounts, Food Lion customers can continue to avail themselves of Food Lion’s weekly specials, including MVP discounts. Food Lion customers using Instacart for the first time will receive their first home delivery at no charge.
