Food Lion Offers Customers ‘Quarter Back’ on Private Brands

Through Oct. 6, Food Lion customers will get 25 cents back for every private-brand item they buy, up to $10, during the grocer's Quarter Back promotion, which spotlights redesigned Food Lion brand packaging.

Now easier to spot on shelves, the updated packaging features nutritional information on the front panel. Further, the company has expanded its private-brand offerings to include fresh produce such as carrots, apples, potatoes, mushrooms and onions.

"Private-brand products are extremely important to Food Lion customers, especially as we make grocery shopping easy, fresh and affordable," noted Paula Summers, director of marketing for Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion. "In total, more than 7,000 private-brand items are now offered in stores, backed by our Food Lion promise of quality and freshness. All of these items also have a double-your-money-back guarantee. If at any time a customer is not completely satisfied, they can return the product to their local Food Lion store and receive double their money back."

Family of Products

As well as the Food Lion brand, which encompasses produce, meat, dairy, bakery and other items, the grocer's private-brand product family consists of Nature's Place natural and organic products, premium Taste of Inspiration items, Home 360 nonfoods such as detergent and paper products, and Healthy Accents HBC items. All are affordably priced and eligible under the current promotion.

During the Quarter Back promotion period, shoppers can repeat the deal as many times as they like. A minimum of four private brand items must be purchased for the promotion to apply, not to exceed 40 items, or $10, in a single shopping trip. Random-weight items aren't eligible. Coupons received may be used on a customer's next shopping trip, but may not be used on the same day. All coupons must be redeemed by Oct. 20.
