Frieda’s Goes Pink

In support of breast cancer awareness, eight Frieda’s Inc. employees will participate in the Produce Marketing Association’s Live FIT 5K Run/Walk in Atlanta on Oct. 14th. Team Frieda’s will be donning pink shirts to support Breast Cancer Awareness in honor of Frieda’s vice president, Jackie Caplan Wiggins, a recent breast cancer survivor.

Frieda’s is also the gift bag sponsor for the PMA 5K Run/Walk – so all participants will receive a reusable shopping bag courtesy of Frieda’s.

Also in its local community in California, Frieda’s supports breast cancer research. In September, Karen Caplan, Wiggins’ sister and the president and CEO of Frieda’s, formed Team Jackie for the TeamSpirit Breast Cancer 10K Walk in Long Beach, Calif. Team Jackie raised close to $40,000 and had 72 teammates walking to support Wiggins and breast cancer survivors.

This year at PMA Fresh Summit, industry leaders will be launching the Produce for Pink campaign, uniting the produce industry in the fight against breast cancer. Exhibitors can help support Produce for Pink by wearing pink corporate attire, ties, shoes, accessories, and handing out pink giveaways. With a goal of raising $17,000, attendees can stop by many exhibitors’ booths, including Frieda’s booth #2546, to make a donation.
