Georgia Peach Council Sweetens People's Day

Team members representing Georgia Peach Council’s grassroots marketing campaign, "Sweet on the Street," made surprise deliveries to local consumers and people with high-stress jobs in the key markets of Orlando, Florida and Tampa, Fla., in an effort to sweeten their day.

The Byron-based peach supplier has updated its public relations, advertising and social media with the catchphrase “Georgia Peaches, All Kinds of Sweet.”  In an effort to highlight that message, the Sweet on the Street team delivered peaches to concert-goers at Rock the Park, one of Tampa’s popular summertime free-music events, held in Curtis Hixon Park downtown.

Patrons of Tampa’s Charles J. Fendig Public Library were also the recipients of several boxes of Georgia Peaches, as well as Tampa Fire Stations #1 and #14, in honor of their service and dedication to the local community.

“We’ve targeted Tampa and Orlando because Florida is a key market for Georgia Peaches,” said Duke Lane III, chairman of the Georgia Peach Council. “Floridians love our sweet Georgia Peaches, and we love their oranges!”

Deliveries in Orlando included Fire Station #1 as well as a Friday lunch hour on Wall Street, a popular pedestrian area.
