Giant-Carlisle Adding Branded Cheese Shop to Central Pa. Store

Giant Food Stores and famous Philadelphia specialty food purveyor Di Bruno Bros. are rolling out a cheese and specialty food shop within the Giant Super Food Store in Camp Hill, Pa. Debuting Jan. 24, the Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Shop will celebrate the momentous occasion – its first location in central Pennsylvania -- with an official Parmigiano Reggiano cracking.

“By partnering with Di Bruno Bros., we’ll be introducing our customers to an amazing variety of high-quality, innovative specialty foods and products from Philadelphia’s authentic cheese experts,” said Rick Herring, president of Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant/Martin’s, an Ahold USA division that operates almost 200 grocery stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, under the Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets banners.

With daily hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Shop will offer a variety of fine imported foods, including more than 125 varieties of homemade, national and international cheeses and almost 60 types of cured meats and antipasti, along with crackers, jams, jellies, oils and sauces. Trained staff will educate customers on cheese selections and help them with unique meal or snack pairings and product preparation.

“This partnership will allow us to share our spirit of culinary pioneering with Giant customers so that they, too, can enjoy the vast world of cheese and the numerous accompaniments available to create delicious and interesting pairings every day,” noted said Bill Mignucci Jr., president of Di Bruno Bros., which began in 1939 in Philadelphia’s historic Italian Market district, where the its flagship store is still located today.
