Hannaford To Go Now at 25 Locations

Hannaford Supermarkets has opened its 25th Hannaford To Go curbside-pickup location, in Glens Falls, N.Y., an event that the Scarborough, Maine-based grocer hailed as “a significant milestone,” noting that “[t]he service is the first of its kind in many regions.” The company also opened its Hannaford To Go 24th location, in Hudson, N.H., on the same day.

After a successful pilot program at several stores, Hannaford opened 11 additional locations over the past year. The Delhaize America banner now plans an “aggressive” expansion schedule this year, based on the success it’s seen so far.

“Hannaford will continue to innovate and find new ways to meet our shoppers’ needs, as their expectations for online shopping grow,” said Hannaford Director of e-Commerce Mark Bradeen. “We are committed to providing services that make shopping easier for our customers.”

Hannaford To Go enables customers to order online any product at a local Hannaford supermarket and pick up the items in about four hours.

“Customers tell us how much they appreciate this service, when we do the grocery shopping for them,” noted Bradeen. “Hannaford To Go is attracting new customers to our stores and strengthening our relationships with shoppers.”

In 2014, PG spoke with Hannaford about the growth of the service, which was then offered by eight stores.

Hannaford operates 188 stores in Maine, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont, employing more than 27,000 associates.
