Harris Teeter’s New Sub Goes on Defense

Harris Teeter and Carolina Hurricane defenseman Jay Harrison have teamed up to create Harrison’s personally designed Signature Sub Sandwich, “The Defender.” Harrison will be on hand to sign autographs and provide samples of the Southeast regional chain’s latest sub on Feb. 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the North Hills East Harris Teeter in Raleigh, N.C.

Retailing for $3.99, the sandwich features roasted turkey and bacon topped with pepper jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo on a wheat sub roll. For $4.99, shoppers can make it a lunch pack consisting of The Defender; a choice of Harris Teeter Sweet Tea, Unsweet Tea or Lemonade; and a choice of one Chocolate Chunk, Macadamia Nut, Oatmeal Raisin or Cranberry Nut Cookie.

Harris Teeter’s first Signature Sub Sandwich of the season, the Defender will be available in the Fresh Foods Market Sandwich Shop, which offers made-to-order sandwiches and wraps daily at all Raleigh-area Harris Teeter stores. The Matthews, N.C.-based grocer said that customers should anticipate further Signature Sub Sandwiches this season.
