IDDBA Announces Dairy-Deli-Bake 2012 Program

The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association has announced the speaker lineup for Dairy-Deli-Bake 2012, scheduled for June 10-12 in New Orleans at the Morial Convention Center.

This year’s speakers include: Sarah Palin, Paula Deen, Terry Bradshaw, John Pinette, Jeremy Gutsche, Adrian Slywotzky, Jim Carroll, Jane Buckingham, Harold Lloyd, Steve Beekhuizen and Jack Li.

Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate, will present “The Heart of a Rogue Trailblazer.” A contributor to Fox News and the author of “Going Rogue: An American Life and America by Heart,” she was named to Time’s 2010 “100 Most Influential People” list.

“Best Dishes” will be presented by Paula Deen, best-selling author and Food Network host. Starting with just $200 and the help of her sons, she created “The Bag Lady,” a home-based meal delivery service. Then came a restaurant, a series of cookbooks, an appearance on QVC and her own television show. Today, Deen has three TV shows, a line of signature cookware, kitchen accessories and a line of housewares.

Legendary Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw will present “Personal Power to the Max,” sharing his strategies for maintaining success through persistent self-improvement.

“Get Outa the Line!” is a key catch-phrase of stand-up comedian John Pinette, whose insight into food, eating, buying and merchandising should bring tears of hilarity as he takes his audience on an incredible food journey.

Jeremy Gutsche, founder of TrendHunter.com, will explore “How to Make Your Brand Matter by Exploiting Chaos and Unlocking ‘Cool.’” He’ll explain how creating a culture connection with your consumer is the most powerful way to elevate a brand into iconic status with staying power.

“Demand: Creating What People Want Before They Know They Want It” is the focus of Adrian Slywotzky, named one of the top 50 business thinkers by the Times of London.

Futurist and trends-and-innovation expert Jim Carroll will explains new ways to uplift product in retail space, how to change customer loyalty through new forms of interaction, and how to enhance one-to-one conversations through hyper-niching in “The New Normal: Innovation, Hyper-niching and Transformative Change.”

“Bridging the Generational Divide: Reaching Tomorrow’s Consumer” is the focus of Jane Buckingham, president of Trendera.com, who will define each generation, providing clear examples that allow marketers to visualize consumer needs and how they relate to you.

Perennial IDDBA favorite Harold Lloyd will present “How Strong is Your Magnetic Field? The Craveability Factor.”

Are supermarkets the new restaurants? That’s the question Steve Beekhuizen, IDDBA president and Dawn Food Products senior VP of sales, will attempt to answer in his presentation that explores what influences where and how consumers eat.

Jack Li, relevance strategist at Datassential, will share how consumers shop, how brands and private label influence their purchases, and the influence of time, price and freshness on their decisions in “Consumer Shopping Dynamics – The Decision Tree.”

Finally, IDDBA Executive Director Carol Christison will present “Leading the Food Parade: Consumers, Trends and New Products,” in her annual update on the issues that are changing our business.

IDDBA is a nonprofit membership organization serving the dairy, deli, bakery, cheese and supermarket foodservice industries.
