Kroger Returns as Fiesta Atlanta 2012 Sponsor

The Kroger Co. will again support Fiesta Atlanta in 2012, as the sixth annual Cinco de Mayo celebration prepares to open at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on May 6.

Kroger’s display area will feature an interactive and dynamic area for families to enjoy free product samples and gather information on food items. “We are really excited about returning to this terrific event that not only allows us to connect face to face with the Latino consumers in both English and Spanish language, but also helps us to understand their culture and specific needs,” said Glynn Jenkins, Kroger’s communications and PR director.

Ralph Herrera, president of Lanza Group, producer of the festival, added: “We are honored to team up once again with Kroger, a company which not only supports hunger relief, breast cancer awareness and more than 30,000 schools in the communities it serves, but also supports people from different communities with different backgrounds and cultures.”

Fiesta Atlanta is a free, daylong festival that features live Latin music on two stages with international, national and local recording artists. The family stage includes lively, colorful acts like Mexican folkloric dancers, clowns, musicians and storytellers. Artists will sell handmade traditional crafts and delicious Latin foods. The festival’s partners will provide samples of their products and interactive displays.

Cincinnati-based Kroger’s Atlanta Division has its headquarters in Georgia’s capital city and operates 215 stores in Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina.
