Lund Food Holdings Buys Glen Lake’s Market

Lund Food Holdings Inc., parent company of Lunds & Byerlys, has purchased Glen Lake’s Market, a 25,000-square-foot grocery store located at 14400 Excelsior Boulevard in Minnetonka.

“We look forward to the opportunity to bring our brand of extraordinary food, exceptional service and passionate expertise to those in and around the Glen Lake area in Minnetonka,” said Tres Lund, president and CEO of Edina, Minn.-based LFHI.

Glen Lake's Market will be temporarily closed beginning Oct. 1 for resetting and rebranding and will reopen in early November as a Lunds & Byerlys.

All of the store's 50 associates will have the opportunity to interview for positions with Lunds & Byerlys, with the goal of retaining as many of the store’s current employees as possible.

“While it was a very difficult decision for us to close this store, we couldn’t be more pleased that Lunds & Byerlys was willing to purchase it to provide the best long-term benefit for our employees, customers and the community,” said Alan Commins, GM of Glen Lake’s Market. “Lunds & Byerlys has a demonstrated commitment to providing a sensational working and shopping experience.”

Lunds & Byerlys operates 27 locations throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding area.
