McCaffrey’s Appoints COO

McCaffrey’s Supermarkets, a four-store independent, has hired supermarket industry veteran Fred Brohm as its COO.

Brohm joins McCaffrey’s after more than three decades in the grocery business, most recently in the role of EVP at Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings Food Markets. At Kings, Brohm handled marketing and the development of overall corporate strategy.

“His experience in the industry, combined with his knowledge of multichannel marketing efforts and corporate strategy, make for an exciting future for McCaffrey’s Supermarkets,” said Jim McCaffrey IV, EVP of Langhorne, Pa.-based McCaffrey’s.

At McCaffrey’s, Brohm will be responsible for the daily operations of all McCaffrey’s locations, while taking part in strategic planning and growth efforts with Jim McCaffrey IV and president and CEO James McCaffrey III.

“The addition of Fred to our team is a major accomplishment for our company,” noted McCaffrey III, who added that Brohm would have a “positive impact … on our business” and was “a strong asset” to the company’s team.

A resident of Warwick, N.Y., Brohm is an active member of the community who has served on the boards of directors for both the New Jersey Food Bank and the New Jersey Food Council.

McCaffrey’s stores are located in Princeton and West Windsor, N.J., and Newtown and Yardley, Pa.
