Price Chopper Names VP Deli/Food Service

Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. has hired Troy Johnson to the position of VP of deli/food service, reporting directly to Keith Frosceno, group VP of fresh foods merchandising.

In his new role, Johnson (left) will oversee the merchandising of the company’s deli and foodservice areas, including specialty cheese. He will also have responsibility for all aspects of purchasing, inventory management, sales promotions and financials of these areas for the Schenectady, N.Y.-based grocery store chain.

Johnson joins Price Chopper with more than 20 years of experience in foodservice. His most recent position was senior director of prepared foods and commissary development for Ahold USA in Carlisle, Pa.

The family-operated Golub Corp. owns and operates 130 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Golub employs more than 22,000 associates who collectively own 52 percent of the company’s privately held stock.
