Price Chopper to Offer Community Health Services

Price Chopper Supermarkets has teamed up with CDPHP to offer the community access to innovative health services and screenings at new, state-of-the-art Health Stations located at Price Chopper pharmacies throughout Upstate New York.

The Health Stations are located in six Price Chopper pharmacies, and provide free blood pressure, weight, heart rate, blood oxygen, and temperature readings. In addition, patients can create a Personal Health Assessment that can be printed at the Health Station.

“The Affordable Care Act emphasizes the need for preventive and efficient health care,” said Kathy Bryant, Price Chopper’s VP of pharmacy. “Pharmacies can play an integral role by providing greater access to screenings and valuable health services. Price Chopper is in a unique position to offer access and advocate wellness programs in our communities. The collaboration among our pharmacists, dietitians, CDPHP and innovative technology offered at the Health Stations offers an opportunity for better patient health care outcomes.”

The Health Stations are located in six Price Chopper locations, including the Bethlehem, Schenectady, Glenmont, Malta, Johnstown and Poughkeepsie stores.

“These health stations will provide our members unique access to benefits and services at a time and place that’s convenient for them,” said Dr. John Bennett, president and CEO, CDPHP. “As we enter a new era in health care, we are thrilled to partner with Price Chopper Supermarkets, an organization that shares our commitment to community wellness.”

Price Chopper pharmacies offer signature programs including Diabetes AdvantEdge, free antibiotics, Rx AdvantEdge, immunizations, and free children’s and prenatal vitamins. All Price Chopper pharmacists are certified immunizers and provide flu and shingles vaccines. CDPHP and Price Chopper Pharmacy partner on other health initiatives such as medication therapy management, medical nutrition therapy and immunization services.
