Publix Rolls Out ‘Sync Your Refills’ Program

Following a successful test in its Atlanta division, Publix Pharmacies will expand its recently introduced “Sync Your Refills” program to all 925 of the grocer’s pharmacies by Friday, Jan. 24.

Sync Your Refills helps customers coordinate their medications to be refilled on the same day of the month. The program facilitates customer engagement and the discussion of such patient care activities as immunizations, medication changes, medication therapy management (MTM) consultations and medication adherence.

Health, Convenience are Key

“As both a supermarket and pharmacy, we are focused on providing convenient programs and services to our customers,” said Maria Brous, media and community relations director at Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets Inc. “Our Sync Your Refills program is designed to respect the time of our customers and continue to build on a strong relationship between patient and pharmacist. Prescription synchronization assists in medication adherence for happier, healthier customers.”

No appointments are needed to enroll in the program. A Publix pharmacist or pharmacy technician can help enrollees cycle all of their prescriptions to one convenient pickup date. Participating customers receive a call eight days before the fulfillment of prescriptions each month to make sure no changes have occurred, and a reminder call or text goes out the day before pickup. Additionally, a call or text is sent if prescriptions aren’t picked up within 48 hours of the due date.

Privately owned and operated by its 166,000 employees, Publix has 1,077 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
