Raley’s Expands Aldata Space Automation Use

Raley’s has expanded its use of space optimization solutions from Aldata, an Atlanta-based provider of retail and distribution optimization software, to create and maintain category- to store-specific planograms for high-volume categories, thereby enabling the West Sacramento, Calif.-based grocer to engage in broader vendor collaboration.

The addition of Aldata Space Automation lets Raley’s grow its existing space optimization capabilities, which already include the vendor’s Shelf Planning and Web Publishing modules allowing the company to lower inventory carrying costs, decrease out-of-stocks, boost productivity and increase sales.

“With multiple supermarket chains operating throughout northern California and Nevada, Raley’s needed to move beyond manual planogram creation in order to support high-volume categories across multiple stores,” explained Rick McGill, the grocer’s space optimization manager. “With Aldata Space Automation, everyone on our schematic team has software to automate planograms and achieve a much more granular approach to category management than ever before.”

Raley’s operates 129 stores under four banners: Raley’s, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.
