Redner's Opening 2 Stores

Redner's Markets Inc. has finalized plans for two new locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware. The Warehouse Markets will be the chain’s third such store in Pennsylvania’s Chester County and its second in Delaware’s Kent County. President and CEO Richard Redner gave tentative opening dates of fall 2011 for the Chester Springs, Pa., market and spring 2012 for the location in Milford, Del.

Renovations to the existing Chester Springs building in the Shops at Lionville Station Shopping Center, formerly the site of a Superfresh grocery store, are now underway. The store will measure around 45,700 square feet upon completion. Media, Pa.-based Lionville Station S.C. Associates owns the property.

The Milford location in the Cypress Hall Shopping Center, meanwhile, will be a new construction, which is scheduled to begin next month and will measure about 49,000 square feet upon completion. Wilmington, Del.-based Shawnee Farms LLC owns the property.

Each market will be a full-service grocery store offering such services as an in-store bakery, a full-service deli, and full-service seafood, produce and meat departments, as well as frozen, dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods and grocery departments. Additional amenities include UScan Check-Out Terminals that enable shoppers to pay with cash, credit or debit card, and the opportunity for customers to take advantage of Redner's Pump Perks fuel discount program. Each store will eventually employ about 150 full- and part-time employees.

Reading, Pa.-based Redner's, an employee-owned company, operates 39 Warehouse Markets and 13 Quick Shoppes in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
