Russ’s Market Wines and Dines

The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience has a lot to celebrate on its fifth anniversary in 2013.

The event, presented by Nebraska-based Russ’s Market, has grown to become the largest annual fundraiser for the Lincoln Community Playhouse. Tickets are on sale now for the benefit event Friday, Feb. 22.

Lincoln’s premier event for people who love fine wine and food once again features an impressive selection of both. Approximately 80 booths will fill the main ballroom. In addition, Reserve Room guests will enjoy an exclusive selection of reserve wines and a buffet prepared by Russ’s Market Catering to You.

The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience has raised more than $130,000 for the Lincoln Community Playhouse over the last four years. This year’s goal is $40,000. General admission tickets for the main ballroom are $40; a limited number of Reserve Room tickets are available for $60.

“The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience has grown to become a fun community event that we all look forward to every year,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores Inc. “We’re glad that Russ’s Market can help the playhouse provide entertainment and theater education programs for the people of Lincoln.”

The annual Winemaker’s Dinner will feature award-winning winemaker Jimmy Morrill of Clos Du Bois. The four-course dinner is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Lincoln Community Playhouse. Each course features a different Clos Du Bois wine, along with expert insight from Morrill. Tickets for the Winemaker’s Dinner are $50.

Lincoln, Neb.-based B&R Stores Inc., founded in 1964, includes four store concepts (Russ’s Market, Super Saver, Save Best Foods and Grand Central Apple Market) located in seven cities across Nebraska and Iowa.
