Save Mart Reaches Labor Deal with UFCW Members

Following more than a year of negotiations, Save Mart Supermarkets has reached a labor agreement with associates in Northern and Central California represented by UFCW 8-Golden State.

The settlement covers some 5,500 union members at 110 Save Mart, S-Mart and Lucky stores locations.

“This tentative agreement is a model for aligning labor and management’s interests to create a ‘win-win’ approach toward serving everyone’s needs: our members, our customers and the company,” said Jacques Loveall, president of UFCW 8-Golden State, adding that the deal will provide "top wages and the finest health care and pension benefits in the grocery industry."

Details of the agreement will be revealed next month following union members' review and ratification.
