Schnucks Expands Home Delivery Service

Joining the rising tide of innovative shopping solutions, St. Louis-based grocery chain Schnuck Markets Inc. is extending the convenience of online shopping and home delivery service to customers of its stores in northern Illinois and southern Indiana.

Starting this week, Schnucks Delivers will offer online grocery ordering and home delivery in the Rockford, Ill., and Evansville, Ind., areas through the retailer’s partnership with Instacart, which began in St. Louis earlier this year. The move marks Instacart’s first foray into either of these markets.

“At Schnucks we always want to give our customers the best products and shopping experience, and Schnucks Delivers takes that convenience and service commitment to a whole new level,” said Andrew Nadin, Schnucks’ chief marketing officer. “Schnucks Delivers online grocery shopping is how we improve convenience, further nourish our communities and provide shoppers the kind of options they expect in order to manage their busy lifestyles.”

Schnucks market research found that online grocery shopping makes high-quality products more accessible for customers, Nadin noted. That research also shows that online services like Schnucks Delivers are a hit with busy families and customers across all segments, from tech-savvy Millennials to America’s growing population of shut-ins, elderly and those who don’t have transportation to get to the market.

“Schnucks Delivers provides groceries with the reliable access and convenience that our customers have told us makes a difference in their daily lives,” Nadin said. “We feel our new online home delivery option really helps our customers fulfill their needs and extends their neighborhood Schnucks directly to their doorstep.”

Schnucks Delivers is available seven days a week for as little as $5.99 for a single order. Groceries can be delivered the same day they are ordered, sometimes in as little as an hour.

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned grocery/pharmacy retailer that operates 100 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.
