Shop ‘n Save Launches Mobile Optimized Website

Shop ‘n Save has launched its new mobile-optimized website, which can be accessed by any smart phone or tablet. The mobile site will allow consumers to view the weekly circular, locate stores, load e-coupons directly to their Perks Card, view recipes, and build shopping lists all within an easy-to-use and reader-friendly interface.

“The independent retailers of Shop ‘n Save pride themselves on providing consumers with great value and the best tools to save money,” said Bill Lipsky, director of merchandising for Supervalu, which supplies the independently owned and operated Shop ‘n Save stores. “By creating a mobile website, we are providing our customers a convenient, valuable tool to help them save time and money when shopping for groceries.”

The mobile website differs from mobile applications in that users don’t need to download anything from an app store. “We expect by 2014 more than half of Shop ‘n Save’s web traffic will be coming from a smart phone or tablet,” said Paul Magnani, interactive director, partner, Gatesman+Dave, the grocer’s long-time advertising agency, which developed the mobile website.  "We worked with Shop ‘n Save to create a mobile site that serves as the ultimate tool for consumers to easily access the most important information needed for their shopping experience.”

There are more than 90 independently owned and operated Shop ‘n Save stores in Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia.
