Shop ‘n Save Launches Two Mobile Apps

Shop ‘n Save, an independently owned and operated grocery chain with more than 70 stores in Western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia, has launched two new mobile apps for shoppers to help them plan their trips and find savings while on the go.

Shop ‘n Save’s iPhone application allows users to select and load coupons directly onto their Shop ‘n Save Perks Card, and a QR code program that offers consumers recipes, tips, and other deals.

Shop ‘n Save teamed up with YOU Technology Retail Services to create the free app, which is available on iPhone, iTouch and iPad. “At Shop ‘n Save we are committed to providing our customers with new and convenient ways to save and build meals for their families,” said Bill Lipsky, area sales director, Supervalu. “Our new iPhone application and QR code program one of the first in the region, and a new way that Shop ‘n Save is helping to make feeding a family a little easier.”

A QR code, or quick-response code, program will now be featured in the grocer’s weekly circular, in-store, online and through a variety of other marketing channels. The QR codes are barcode-like boxes that when scanned by smart phones directs users to different value-added content like recipes, cooking tips, and deals from Shop ‘n Save. This summer users will be also find grilling recipes, tips and special promotions all through their smart phones.
