Smart & Final Promotes Scott Drew to EVP, Operations

Smart & Final has promoted Scott Drew to executive VP of operations, effective March 23, 2015. 

In addition to leading the Commerce, Calif.-based retailer's store operations, Drew will oversee real estate, construction and operations human resources.

“Scott Drew continues to grow as a respected, critical part of Smart & Final’s executive team and we’re thrilled to further expand his leadership role into new arenas,” said Dave Hirz, the company's president and CEO, to whom Drew will report.

A five-year company veteran, Drew was promoted to SVP of operations in 2011. Before joining Smart & Final, he served as VP of store operations for The Kroger Co. in Indianapolis, where he managed more than 150 stores in five states.

Smart & Final Stores Inc. operates 254 grocery and foodservice stores under the Smart & Final, Smart & Final Extra! and Cash & Carry Smart Foodservice banners in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada and Idaho, with an additional 14 stores in northern Mexico operated through a joint venture.
