Stater Bros. ‘Rings In’ $500K for Salvation Army

Throughout this past holiday season, Stater Bros. raised over $528,000 for The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Christmas Campaign by hosting bell-ringers at all of the grocer’s locations.

“I always tell my employees to do the right thing for the right reason,” said Jack H. Brown, chairman and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets. “Supporting the Salvation Army in their mission to help those in need during the Holiday Season is definitely the right thing to do.”

“Our local programs rely heavily on the money raised through the red kettles to fund our social services at Christmastime and throughout the year,” added Deborah Knutson, public and corporate relations director for The Salvation Army in the Western U.S. “All kettle income 'stays local' to help people in the community where it is raised, so supporting The Salvation Army is a solid investment in helping others when and where they need it most."

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets.
