Stater Bros. Introduces Free Personal Vitamin Recommendation Program

To help its shoppers make sure they are getting the vitamins they need, Stater Bros. added a service to its website (www.staterbros.com) that was developed to guide visitors through a free 5-minute personal health survey, the recommendations of which will determine which vitamin supplements are best for each person’s individual lifestyle and personal needs.

As an added convenience, customers can take the 5-minute personal health survey with the help of a Stater Bros. pharmacist at any one of the 27 Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy locations. The pharmacist can then further discuss the recommendations and help find the best vitamins for the customer’s individual needs.

“We’re offering this innovative program free of charge to promote the health and well-being of our customers,” said Jack H. Brown, Stater Bros. chairman and CEO.

The recommendations used in the personal health survey have been approved by health professionals at the University of Illinois and are based on a conservative subset of 25 clinically supportive and science-based supplements, according to the grocer, which established the program together with Top Care brand vitamins and supplements. According to Stater Bros, Top Care products feature the same active ingredients as national brands, cost up to 50 percent less, and are guaranteed to work just as well.

Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy offers additional healthy living programs for its customers, including a free antibiotic program that offers a 14-day supply of selected antibiotics, including refills, at no charge to anyone with or without health insurance coverage who presents a prescription. It most recently introduced a free diabetic medication program that includes up to 100 pills in varying strengths to customers with a valid prescription from their doctor. In addition, Stater Bros. is continuing its $4 generic prescription program, in which more than 300 commonly prescribed medications are available for $4 for a 30-day supply or $10 for a 90-day supply.

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 Supermarkets in Southern California.
