Stew Leonard’s to Hold Kids’ Cooking Classes

Stew Leonard’s Newington, Conn., store will present a series of new cooking classes for children in September and October, including classes to celebrate Halloween and the harvest season.

During the classes, kids receive hands-on instruction in preparing various products as well as learning about measurements, cooperation and food safety.

The price is per child per class, which is payable at the time of registration at the store’s customer service desk. Classes will take place at Stew Leonard’s Executive Kitchen on the second floor of the store. Children need not be accompanied by an adult, except in the case of classes for toddlers, which require adult supervision for each child participant.

Classes are as follows:

Sept. 6: Cookie Workshop (Ages 5 and up)
Sept. 13: Eating Thru the Alphabet: G, H and I (Two sessions, ages 2-5)
Sept. 14: Easy Muffin Tin Treats (Ages 5 and up)
Sept. 20: Creative Cookie Workshop (Ages 5 and up)
Sept. 27: Apples and Pumpkins (Two sessions, ages 2-5)
Sept. 28: Apples and Pumpkins (Ages 2-5)
Oct. 5: Homemade Potstickers (Ages 5 and up)
Oct. 14: Columbus Day – Taste of Italy (Ages 5 and up)
Oct. 18: Eating Thru the Alphabet: J, K and L (Two sessions, ages 2-5)
Oct.18: Pizza, Pizza, Pizza! (Ages 5 and up)
Oct. 25: Halloween Cupcakes (Three sessions, ages 2-5)
Oct. 25 & 26: Halloween Cupcakes (Ages 5 and up)
