Tom Thumb Adds Grocery Delivery in Dallas-Fort Worth

Albertsons Companies Inc. has added a grocery delivery program for its Tom Thumb stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, allowing for deliveries to be scheduled within one-hour windows.

The new service, which allows for orders online or via a dedicated mobile app, is supported by state-of-the-art delivery trucks equipped with multiple temperature zones to keep frozen items frozen and vegetables crisp. Tom Thumb's personal shoppers select the items ordered and load them onto the refrigerated trucks for delivery.

To celebrate the launch, shoppers making their first order will receive $10 off their purchase, as well as no delivery charge.

Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons Companies Inc. operates stores across 35 states and Washington, D.C., under 19 banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen and Carrs.
