Tops’ Digital Promo Program Powered by Inmar

Tops Markets LLC has enhanced its participation in the Inmar Promotion Network with the rollout of the “TOPS BonusPlusSM Click-to-Card Coupons” program. The new initiative, which has been designed and implemented, and is being managed by Tops and Inmar with advanced Web services provided by Webstop, will allow Tops BonusPlusSM/BonusCard holders to load manufacturers’ coupons from the Tops website directly to their active accounts.

With the paperless coupons loaded to their Tops BonusPlus/BonusCards, shoppers at the Williamsville, N.Y.-based grocer can redeem them at checkout without having to present any paper coupons. Their purchases are matched against loaded coupons, and the savings are automatically deducted from the bill.

The rapidly expanding network is now approaching 10,000 rooftops. Its digital component connects manufacturers and other promotional content providers with retailers, who can take advantage of point-of-sale redemption technology and transaction settlement.

“Tops Markets’ adoption of an Inmar-managed digital coupon program is a natural outgrowth of Inmar’s long-term efforts facilitating this progressive grocer’s traditional paper coupon program,” said David Mounts, CEO of the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based vendor. “Their commitment to effective marketing -- as evidenced by the introduction of digital promotions into their stores -- is typical of the superior customer engagement we have witnessed throughout our relationship.”

“We are always looking for ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience,” added Frank Curci, president and CEO of Tops, which operates 132 supermarkets – 127 company-owned and five franchise locations – and employs more than 14,000 associates in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. “With this new technology, we’re able to increase our focus on providing shoppers with exceptional value and convenience.”

Webstop, a Palm harbor, Fla.-based developer of digital marketing solutions for the grocery industry, works with more than 600 grocery retailers and 1,700 stores in the United States, and has launched full-featured mobile websites for more than 800 retailers.
