Wegmans Garners Excellence in Execution Award

The recipient of the inaugural FranklinCovey Excellence in Execution Award is Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans Food Markets. The award comes from Salt Lake City-based Franklin Covey Co. a global firm specializing in organizational performance improvement.

“Not only have they exhibited excellence in executing on their strategic goals year after year, but they have created a high-performing culture, where employees’ talents are unleashed, recognized, and appreciated,” FranklinCovey CEO Bob Whitman said of the grocer, which is one of its clients. “Wegmans continues to be recognized for their great performance and their extraordinary workplace.”

According to FranklinCovey’s The 4 Disciplines of Execution methodology, Wegmans earned the highest overall Execution Performance Score out of more than 1,000 FranklinCovey clients worldwide. The composite score for Excellence in Execution is based on the performance of four metrics:

• The percentage of individuals within the organization who make commitments weekly toward the achievement of their teams’ Wildly Important Goal.
• The percentage of those commitments that are achieved on a weekly basis.
• The performance on Lead Measures that the team determines are necessary to the achievement of the Wildly Important Goals.
• The performance against the Wildly Important Goals across the organization.
