Weis Markets Promotes 2 Execs

Weis Markets Inc. has promoted Wayne Bailey to SVP of supply chain and logistics and Bob Cline to VP of talent development and associate relations.

In his new role, Bailey, whose previous title was VP of supply chain and logistics, oversees inventory management, including the sourcing and procurement of products, along with distribution operations and transportation. He also has responsibility for merchandising technologies, reverse logistics and the company’s manufacturing facilities. Bailey reports to COO Kurt Schertle.

Earlier in his Weis career, Bailey worked in various store and field supervision positions.  Over the past 18 years, he has held various senior-level roles in merchandising, supply chain and store operations.

As VP of talent development and associate relations, Cline guides talent and organization development, succession management, associate relations and engagement, career development programs, human resources policies and practices, and potential third-party risk intervention.  He reports to SVP of Human Resources Jim Marcil.

Cline, who joined Weis in 2011, has more than 25 years of field and corporate experience in retail store management, human resources, associate relations, and training and development. Before his promotion, he was director of training and organization development.

Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and West Virginia.
