Weis Markets Rolls Out 7th Round of Price Freezes

Weis Markets has lowered prices on 1,600 staple items for 90 days through Oct. 8. The cuts are the Sunbury, Pa.-based grocer’s seventh 90-day price freezes over the past two and a half years.

“Despite food inflation, we have been able to reduce and freeze the prices on 1,600 products across every department in our store,” said Weis Markets president and CEO David J. Hepfinger. “Our price freeze program continues to offer our customers long-term values they can count on. “Over the past two and a half years, our previous price freeze programs have helped our customers save more than $30 million.”

The company’s current price freezes include 1,600 store-brand and brand-name products in grocery, produce, frozen, dairy, meat, deli, seafood, bakery, health, beauty care and general merchandise.

The program is being promoted in Weis Markets’ circular, TV and radio ads. Additionally, price freeze signage and shelf tags for participating items are in the grocer’s stores.

Weis Markets operates 162 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia.
