Ruan Transportation Names Ben McLean President/COO

Ruan Transportation Management Systems has promoted Ben McLean to president and COO, and named Dan Van Alstine president of western dedication contract services.

In his new role, McLean will have responsibility for Ruan's more than 260 operations nationwide. Having joined the company in 2007, he previously served as EVP of the company's western operations, providing oversight for information technology, maintenance, assets and legal teams.

Prior to joining Des Moines, Iowa-based Ruan, McLean assisted technology companies with mergers, acquisitions and equity offerings at William Blair & Company in Chicago.

New to the company, industry veteran Van Alstine most recently served as SVP and general manager of dedicated services and logistics at Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider National, Inc.
