Green Hills Offers Classes on Loyalty

The Center for Advancing Retail & Technology (CART) at Syracuse, N.Y.-based independent Green Hills plans to launch a series of special courses for retailers, beginning at Green Hill’s live in-store technology lab and eventually moving to other locales around the U.S.

While Gary Hawkins, CEO of Green Hills, ultimately envisions a series of courses addressing retail best practices, the initial focus will be on loyalty marketing. CART has partnered with Retalix's StoreNext division, which has a Connected Loyalty product that is tailored to regional and local retailers. Together the partners designed a program aimed at creating a seamless learning experience between strategy and practice.

Two courses are currently available: "Getting Started with Loyalty" is aimed at retailers that are embarking on the loyalty journey. "Loyalty 3.0," is based upon Green Hills’ and CART’s first-hand knowledge and insights gained from being at loyalty’s leading edge for nearly two decades.

These courses chart the basic first steps in establishing a successful loyalty program, discussing resolutions to major stumbling blocks, and applying CART’s experience to interactive discussions on attendees’ unique circumstances. The Center’s executives have a long history of success – both personally at Green Hills as well as from assisting retailers of all sizes launch and operate loyalty programs, and the crucial lessons from that history have been wrapped into the new "Loyalty 3.0" course.

“Education is vital to CART’s mission of advancing merchants’ use of technology,” said Gary Hawkins, CEO of Green Hills and Hawkins Strategic. “It’s a key driver of "Retail 3.0" in the Center’s model of the evolving retail business.”
