Sam’s Club, Chefs Team Up on Restaurant-quality Recipes

Sam’s Club and eight executive chefs have joined forces to create restaurant-quality mealtime solutions for all dayparts. New recipes will roll out every month from August through January, courtesy of the freshly minted Sam’s Club Simply Delicious Chef Brigade partnership.

Consumers can visit SamsClub.com/Meals and the Sam’s Club Facebook page to discover innovative mealtime solutions from Chef Brigade members. Seasonal easy-to-make meal ideas are paired with printer-ready shopping lists, while the Sam's Club series of “7 Ways” recipes gives home chefs seven uses for a core food item to suit every day of the week, as a way to manage leftovers and large-quantity items. Recipes currently available from the Chef Brigade are Summer Shrimp Cobb Salad, Cherry Yum Yum, Summer Saucy Ribs and All-American French Toast.

Besides recipes, shoppers can gain access to ingredient shopping tips to perk up weekday meals, along with easy tricks of the trade and cooking techniques to enhance the home cooking experience, full chef bios, videos, other featured chef content, and updates.

The all-star lineup of the Chef Brigade, representing a range of cuisines and cooking specialties, includes Molly Hawks of Hawks in Sacramento, Calif., known for her classic American fare with a focus on fresh, local ingredients; Todd Clore of Todd’s Unique Dining in Las Vegas, famous for his brunch and seafood dishes; Dale Levitski of Sprout in Chicago, acclaimed for his flavorful family favorites; Jan Kelly of Meritage in Milwaukee, who integrates fresh seasonal ingredients into her contemporary American cuisine; and Casey Thompson of Brownstone in Dallas, who melds fresh foods and simple twists.

Sam's Club members in these areas can meet their local chefs in person during in-club demonstrations. A full schedule of these events is available online.

“It can be challenging to invent new weekday dishes or to spice up your usual meals, especially when so many Americans are always on the run,” noted Shawn Baldwin, EVP of fresh & freezer/cooler at Sam’s Club, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based mega-retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc. “Our members – busy parents and restaurant chefs alike – depend on Sam's Club for easy-to-find, quality food options and ingredients that simplify mealtime planning and solutions. Partnering with a brigade of top-notch chefs to unveil simply delicious recipes, Sam's Club can inspire creative cooking and make eating in as exciting as dining out.”

Sam's Club has more than 47 million members in clubs across the United States, as well as in Brazil, China and Mexico.
