Sam’s Club Gives Consumers ‘Spring Taste’ in April

As a way to make shopping and party planning easier and less stressful, Sam’s Club is providing both members and non-members with a “Spring Taste of Sam's Club” on April 15-17. The free tasting event will feature popular fare and gourmet discoveries at locations across the United States from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Spring Taste of Sam's Club will additionally serve as the venue for the official launch of a Sam's Club cookbook, “Fresh, Fast and Fabulous,” which contains recipes from well-known barbecue chefs Rod Gray and Troy Black as well as club members. Featured recipes include Hawaiian Nachos, Bacon and Bleu Cheese Burgers, and Mustard-Thyme Crusted Rack of Lamb. A selection of recipes from the cookbook will be available to sample during the event, and each club will have 800 cookbooks on hand, with a free copy given to every new member.

A free e-book version of “Fresh, Fast and Fabulous” will also be available on Facebook on April 15-17. Visitors who “Like” the Sam's Club Facebook page during that time can download the entire recipe collection at www.facebook.com/samsclub.

"This tasting event and our cookbook are fun ways the whole family can try new foods, from premium cuts of meat and fresh fruit to summer desserts,” noted Corbett Jennings, VP of membership at Sam’s Club. “Spring Taste of Sam’s Club is a time when we welcome everyone to visit and see the vast variety of options we have for enjoying the season.”

During the three-day event, non-members can avail themselves of warm-weather finds and club exclusives without a service fee on any purchase. Shoppers will have access to such entertaining essentials as restaurant-quality seafood, meat, poultry, produce and beverages, in addition to outdoor dining solutions including grills and patio furniture.

Sam’s Club, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc., has more than 47 million members in clubs across the United States, as well as in Brazil, China and Mexico.
