Market of Choice to Open Beaverton Store

Market of Choice is opening its ninth location in Beaverton, Ore.’s Cedar Mill neighborhood on Jan. 15. The newest store in the family-owned chain will feature many of the amenities introduced in the flagship store located in Eugene.

The store will feature an expansive produce selection, scratch-made bakery products, specialty cheeses, whole health and bulk food items, full-service meat and seafood departments, gourmet deli and kitchen, and a beer and wine shop, which is home to a growler station and wine bar.

“We’re excited to be part of the Cedar Mills neighborhood,” said Rick Wright, president of Market of Choice. “We’ve received many positive comments, employment inquiries and questions about our progress over the last year. Mostly, people just want to know when we’re opening, which makes us feel very welcome.”

The Cedar Mill store is the third location in the Portland metro area, joining stores already open in Portland and West Linn. The location will feature many of the eco-friendly components found in other Market of Choice stores, including LED lighting, solar tracking skylights and glycol refrigerant, as well as an organic compound that creates an efficient heating and hot water reclamation system. The lighting choices will reduce the store’s electric use by 75 percent, according to the retailer.
