Gelson’s Donna Tyndall Named WAFC Director

Donna Tyndall, SVP operations for Gelson’s Market, was elected to the Western Association of Food Chains board of directors.

Tyndall began working for Gelson’s 41 years ago as a clerk’s helper. After earning her degree from UCLA, she became the first female manager in the company and was promoted to her current position in 2004.

In addition to her UCLA degree, Tyndall also graduated from USC Marshall School of Business Food Industry Management Program, where she was named Student of the Year. She also was honored as one of Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery in 2007.

“It is always gratifying to welcome an executive to the board that has directly benefited from the FIM program that the WAFC established at the University of Southern California in 1958. We applaud Donna’s success and welcome her participation” said Bryan Kaltenbach, WAFC president/chairman and president of Food4Less/Foods Co.
