InteliChoice Merchandising System Launched

Printing and shopper marketing solutions company Foxfire Printing has introduced InteliChoice, a merchandising system to help retailers create customized in-store shelf tags, interactive marketing tools and social media content promoting the nutritional attributes of a wide range of foods.

Drawing on an exhaustive proprietary dataset, the system uses food product data, federal nutrition guidelines, consumer trend information and retailer marketing goals to develop in-store shelf tags that enable consumers to make more informed food choices. Newark, Del.-based Foxfire organizes the dataset into a customizable value-added solution for retailers, under the guidance of nationally recognized dietitian Judy Seybold, the company’s senior director of shopper marketing solutions. The dataset is integrated with a retailer’s shelf-edge programs to produce customized shelf strips, tags and related social media content.

InteliChoice identifies such nutritional attributes as sodium, fat, calories, sugar and gluten, and then guides consumers toward food choices that aid heart and digestive health. The dataset also offers allergen information, alerts shoppers to certain ingredients, processing techniques or certifications, and calls out kosher or gluten-free status. Uniting shelf signs, promotional large-format signage, ad circulars, online advertising, rewards programs, smartphone applications and other retailer marketing initiatives, the system generates metrics to influence retailers’ marketing decisions. Additionally, shelf-edge tags and signage in customized kits arrive at stores ready to be installed.

“Foxfire’s InteliChoice system integrates proven, science-based nutrition information with real-time primary data taken directly from a client’s store to produce customized, informative, shelf-edge solutions that drive sales and build profits,” noted Seybold. “Foxfire works directly with retailers to integrate a store’s marketing and business goals with real-time shopper trends and the most current dietary guidelines to create a single, turnkey solution that transforms the shelf edge into a 24-hour source of health-and-wellness information for the growing number of health-conscious consumers.”

InteliChoice also includes a database of health-and-wellness attributes for private label foods, allowing retailers to incorporate high-margin store brand foods within the system at no additional cost. The system encompasses perimeter, meat, seafood and center store category data, making it one of the most comprehensive on the market.

Food retailers can purchase InteliChoice as a licensed product and merchandise it at retail under their respective brand names. As part of the offering, Foxfire works with retailers to develop customized nutrition fact sheets, dietary information for websites and other social media content, and a range of health-and-wellness tools, also at no additional cost.
