    Jennie-O Talks Turkey for Grilling

    Poultry-based steaks and burgers launched

    A leading turkey brand is raising the steaks when it comes to grilling.

    During peak grilling season, Jennie-O Turkey Store, Willmar, Minn., has introduced three new turkey products for the barbecue: Jennie-O Turkey Breast Steaks, Seasoned Turkey Breast Steaks and Jalapeno Jack Turkey Burgers.

    The Turkey Breast Steaks are available ready-to-cook or pre-seasoned, in a savory garlic and red pepper spice blend. The steaks are sold in 16 to 24-ounce packages for an average suggested retail price of $7.99. The Jalapeno Jack Turkey Burgers are one-third-pound, all-white meat turkey burger patties blended with jalapeno seasoning and Monterey Jack cheese, sold in 16 to 24-ounce packages for an average SRP of $9.99.

    Jennie-O Turkey Store product manager Kim Anderson says that the new products reflect several concurrent consumer trends, including grilling outside, eating more lean cuts of meat, and wanting more flavor out of their foods. “Our new Turkey Breast Steaks and Jalapeno Jack Turkey Burgers provide more flavorful ways to enjoy convenient, great tasting, wholesome grilled meat options,” Anderson remarks.
