Kings Hosting 3rd Annual Golf Classic

Kings Food Markets' Third Annual Charity Golf Classic, which benefits the grocer’s “Act Against Hunger” initiative, will take place Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013. The tournament unites Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings and its industry partners to raise funds for programs providing hunger relief in communities across New Jersey, New York and Connecticut

“As a company dedicated to feeding families, we and our partners are serious about our role in ending hunger, and this Golf Classic helps us do just that,” said Kings president and CEO Judy Spires.

Held at Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon Valley, N.J., the event will feature a brunch menu, a cocktail hour, a buffet dinner and an award presentation honoring community leaders in hunger relief. Attendees will be able to take advantage of complimentary green fees and the use of power carts.

Early-bird sponsorships for the classic include hole sponsorship, registration for a foursome, and individual tickets. All proceeds from the event will go to help boost year-round hunger relief awareness and education. Among the past organizations that have benefited from the annual tournament are Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW), Center for Food Action, Table to Table, and Neighbor to Neighbor.

“In the last two years, we’ve been able to help thousands of families all across New Jersey, New York and Connecticut because of the participation and generous support of our Golf Classic sponsors,” noted Dan McGivney, the event’s chairman for Kings. “It is because of our shared commitment to ending hunger in the communities we serve that we are able to make the incredible impact that we do.”
