Kroger Adds Clinics to Dayton Stores

Three Dayton, Ohio-area Kroger supermarkets will open health clinics by the fall.

Nashville Tenn.-based The Little Clinic, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger Co., will open locations in Englewood, Kettering and Beavercreek, the Dayton Business Journal reported.

The clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and provide diagnosis and treatment, including prescriptions, for adult patients with common illnesses, such as bronchitis, sinus infections, seasonal allergies and the flu. The clinics also provide services such as sports physicals, health screenings and vaccinations.

Clinics have two exam rooms, a private waiting area, an electronic registration kiosk and patient care technician to assist patients with registration, health records and other tasks to minimize waiting time, the Journal reported.

Locations accept most insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Humana, CIGNA and UnitedHealthcare, along with regional providers. Self-paying patients also are accepted, with services averaging $79.
