Kroger Distribution Center Strike Resolved
LOUISVILLE Ky. - An agreement between management and 700 unionized truck drivers, mechanics, and warehouse employees at a Kroger Co. distribution center in eastern Jefferson County near here has led to the end of a labor strike.
About 750 workers walked off the job last week at the distribution center, which is controlled by Transervice and Zenith Logistics, and formerly owned by Cincinnati-based Kroger Co.
Job service and health care were issues in dispute, according to Teamsters Local 89 in Louisville, the union that overwhelmingly ratified two 6-year contracts at Kroger facilities.
