    Kroger, Nashville Union Reach Tentative Accord

    After steady stream of ratifications, nation's largest grocery chain is close to sealing yet another deal with local labor union.

    The Kroger Co. and the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1995 in Nashville have reached a tentative agreement covering more than 8,500 associates who work in 94 stores in and around Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee and Huntsville, Alabama, according to the supermarket chain.
     
    The UFCW will present the tentative agreement to its members for consideration in the coming days. Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending ratification, Kroger said.

    Kroger operates 2,474 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banners.
