CINCINNATI -- On the heels of an eleventh hour pact inked last week with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1099, The Kroger Co. said Friday it had also reached a tentative deal with UFCW Local 400 in West Virginia, the union local that covers more than 3,250 associates at 41 stores in multiple cities in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio.
As previously reported on progressivegrocer.com, the tentative agreement with UFCW 1099 covers nearly 11,000 associates in more than 75 stores in the Cincinnati region. The unions will fully recommend the new labor contracts to their associates and ratification votes will take place in the coming days.
