Laurel Grocery Promotes David Pearson to President

Regional wholesaler Laurel Grocery has promoted David Pearson to president of the company, replacing Dennis Butler, who will assume his new role as president, Retail Marketing Corporation – a sister corporation of Laurel. Butler will remain on Laurel’s board.

Pearson joined Laurel in January 2011 and has played a key role with Butler in the restructure of many key components of the company. His career includes an extensive background in both the retail and wholesale side of the industry, including his prior responsibility as president of the Central Region for Supervalu.

Gary Crawford will also join the company as its new SVP of sales and development, with full and direct responsibility for the development team and field staff. Additionally, Stephen Chesnut will move into his new role as VP of development – South; and John McCurry will continue in his role as a VP of development with responsibility for the Northern areas.

London, Ky.-based Laurel is a family owned business founded in 1922 that services more than 250 customers across eight states.
